Hello All! Have you tried Skype, yet? If you haven't you should. Kelly's parents live in New Mexico and we have recently enjoyed chatting with them via Skype. It is free to make computer to computer calls via the Internet. The kids love the video calling and getting to see Grandma and Granddad Briden. We love that it is free! My brother Rick has gotten an account so we hope to chat with he and Aunt Kristin more often via Skype as well. If you have family living even a few hours away it is fun to get to see them via a virtual play date.

Here is a funny Skype story. We have been using it quite often lately. One afternoon I was watching a video clip of Secretary Of State Clinton at a news conference. Timmy upon hearing her voice runs into the kitchen and starts waving madly at my computer screen and shouts "HI". He now assumes all video I watch on the Internet is a two way conversation like Skype. Boy was he miffed that Hillary wouldn't return his "Hi", he continued to yell louder getting closer to the screen. Needless to say there was no response. Poor Timmy, snubbed by the former First Lady our esteemed Secretary of State. I just hope if he ever meets her face to face he can forgive her rudeness : ) Ha!Ha!

Faith came home after school and was sharing about her day. Her teacher was ill today so she had a substitute teacher, Mrs. M.

Mommy: "Faith did you obey your teacher today?"

Faith: "I obeyed her all day. She gives us Skittles when we obey her!"

Mommy: "Oh, really."

Faith: " Mommy, I would obey you better if you gave me Skittles too!"

Mommy: Giggling......."Faith you are one smart girl."

We are Spartan fans in our family, so as I type this we are cheering for Michigan State as they play U CONN in the NCAA Final Four. A few years ago, when the Spartans were in March Madness, we were huddled around the television cheering for State when our oldest, Grace, made a funny comment. Grace was probably about 3 years old. Kelly had on a baseball cap with "Sparty" on it. Sparty is pictured here to the right. During this time we were watching bible videos about the death, crucifiction, and Resurrection of Jesus. Grace knew who are the players were, Mary, Peter, Pontius Pilate, etc.

Grace was studying Daddy's hat and said "Who is that?"

Daddy replied "That's Sparty, the Michigan State mascot."

Grace then stated in shock and horror "He killed Jesus!"

If he was in red he sure would look like the classic image in most bible depictions of a Centurion. Grace was truly shocked we would cheer for a team that had any connection to the people who killed Jesus. We explained it to her, but I don't know that she ever believed us.

This morning I drove the whole bunch to school.

Faith: Mom, I loved that yogurt, thanks for making it for breakfast! I ate two whole bowls of it.

After the ride to school Luke sat on my lap to snuggle while I drank my morning coffee.

Mommy: Really, why?

Luke: Because they always MOOO at me!

Mommy: When has a cow moooed at you?

Mommy: Oh, O.K........

Who knew the guy had such an extreme dislike of cows. He never would have made it in Missouri . We lived surrounded by hundreds of acres Beef cattle!

The picture is of the back of my head after Luke and Faith did my hair. They are really enjoying playing "Beauty Salon". Mommy is always ready for them to brush my hair : ) They were so thrilled with their "hair do" that they couldn't understand why later that afternoon I took them all out to go to Wal-Mart.
